An average Now compilation. August 7, 2005 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I think this is one of the better Now compilations to be released in recent times, but I think some artists were left off that should have been on here. Also, some of these songs have been way overplayed yet again (I guess that means they are hits, so then it would be appropriate to include them here)
Great tunes (although most were overplayed): Hollaback Girl, Switch, Oh, Mockingbird, Girl, La Tortura, Baby I'm Back, Breathe (Anna is actually really good), Incomplete, Let Me Go
I would say if you are not a fan of pop, you most likely wouldn't care for this CD since it's almost all in that genre. Overall, 10 out of 20 songs doesn't really seem to be worth a purchase for me, but it has a better chance of being purchased than the last Now CD.
an interesting concept December 8, 2005 7 out of 11 found this review helpful

Great album, best "Now" installment yet July 19, 2005 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I am from Hong Kong and I don't follow those American/U.S. songs very much. Here is what I think by buying "Now" series continuously including this one.
1. Hollaback Girl - Gwen Stefani The grade: A- Original Position: Now 18 Comment: This is a very good song. It is a good start of this whole album, but this song is kind of outdated. If this album wants to make it better, don't use this as the opening song of this album if Gwen Stefani wants to release a new album, but I am not sure at this point.
2. Switch - Will Smith The grade: A+ Original Position: Now 19 Comment: This is a very popular rap song, perfect song, and it is quite new. I think rap fans may like this album. I think this album is better than Now 18 for you rap fans. As you guys know, this song is using it during the first game of 2005 NBA finals on ABC sports where the Detroit Pistons players' line-up is introduced. It is too bad that Larry Brown is not going to coach the Pistons again for next season. He will be going to somewhere else. But, my favorite team is San Antonio Spurs. Duncan is the best!
3. 1 Thing - Amerie The grade: A Original Position: Now 19 Comment: This song is also good. This female singer has her potential to sing this song so beautifully and make the attraction.
4. Oh - Ciara with Ludacris The grade: B+ Original Position: Now 19 Comment: This song is okay. Not much special. Since it is new, so high grade is absolutely can happen.
5. Slow Down - Bobby Valentino The grade: A Original Position: Now 19 Comment: Bobby sings really in this album. I feel quite enjoyable. Also, it is a new one too like the last song. So, I grade it good.
6. Mockingbird - Eminem The grade: B Original Position: Now 17 or Now 18 Comment: This is another rap song. This song is kind of outdated. However, this song itself is good. This maybe his final time to have his song in now's album as he might be retiring in this September.
7. Girlfight - Brooke Valentine with Big Boi & Lil Jon The grade: A+ Original Position: Now 19 Comment: This song is so good and so new. This combination to sing this song is worth a good grade like this. I want to move my body after I hear this song in this album.
8. Girl - Destiny's Child The grade: B- Original Position: Now 18 Comment: This song is okay. But, it is kind of outdated. If I don't hear it wrong, are they (Destiny's Child) going to split? If so, it will be another loss to the singing team. They were popular before.
9. La Tortura - Shakira The grade: A Original Position: Now 19 Comment: This song is so "up-beat" and it is a Latin. Good song and don't feel any wrong with that. Good song there.
10. Baby I'm Back - Baby Bash with Akon The grade: A Original Position: Now 18 Comment: Good song but kind of outdated. But, I heard Baby Bash's song before and it wasn't bad at all. For this combination, it is just fine.
11. How To Deal - Frankie J. The grade: C+ Original Position: Now 18 Comment: This song is kind of boring. I just don't like this taste.
12. Ordinary People - John Legend The grade: A Original Position: Now 18 Comment: Finally, this is a slow song. It is good. I always hear that this singer is good and it proves to be good.
13. Breathe - Anna Nalick The grade: C Original Position: Now 18 Comment: No very good and kind of outdated. I think this song cannot be in this album.
14. Making Memories Of Us - Keith Urban The grade: A Original Position: Now 18 Comment: This is another slow song. It is good and pretty relaxing. Keith Urban should keep singing this kind of non-upbeat songs. I want to relax. Good lyrics.
15. Incomplete - Backstreet Boys The grade: A+ Original Position: Now 19 Comment: This is new, and yet another good song. Backstreet Boys is the bomb. I hear it before and I am sure this song must be in this album since it is so popular. I love it. Good choice.
16. Let Me Go - 3 Doors Down The grade: C- Original Position: Now 18 Comment: This song is not good at all. I just don't like it anyway.
17. Be My Escape - Relient K The grade: A Original Position: Now 18 Comment: This is a pretty fast song is really in an up-beat scale. It will make me rock all the way around there.
18. Mr. Brightside - The Killers The grade: B- Original Position: Now 18 Comment: Too fast. I can hear a single word. But, the music itself is good.
19. Speed Of Sound - Coldplay The grade: A Original Position: Now 19 Comment: No comment, just a good one.
20. Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz The grade: A Original Position: Now 19 Comment: Good start of the finale and good last song in this album. The laugh in the beginning of this song and the end of this song makes me laugh too.
Overall grade in this album: A
Overall comment about this album: This is a the best "Now" installment yet in the recent years. There are a lot of good and new songs. There are some bad songs but just only three of them, which are pretty less. Overall, good album and I like this album since a lot of songs are good. And of course, I am hoping the Now 20 will be even better.
The most outdated song: 6. Mockingbird - Eminem
The most updated song: 2. Switch - Will Smith
The best song in this album: 15. Incomplete - Backstreet Boys
The worst song in this album: 16. Let Me Go - 3 Doors Down
Not Half Bad but Almost Half Bad July 27, 2005 6 out of 12 found this review helpful
They Got it all wrong, like Now 16 they put unnoticed pop or punk songs, (Simnple Plan, Yellowcard etc.), I mean C'mon how long do epople hear them, you get tired now or then. Of course there are very good pop artists you listen and who keep up the picture of music well.
As for this one I don't approve of Brooke Valentine,Bobby Valentino, Amerie and Relient K. And the worst song is "Oh", come on, give me a BREAK! This album shud have been a Best of R & B thing. Thee Is hardly any Good Rock, where are Foo Fighters, Audioslave, green Day and the others. And they wanna "CALL IT MUSIC", they should include actual quality artists like Mariah Craey, The Game, Black Eyed Peas and 50 Cent. These are really old songs. Instead of "yuk" artists like Valentino, they shud put in Mario, or Missy Elliott.
Herez my Ideal List of a NOW 19:
Mariah Carey - We belong together Coldplay - Speed of Sound 50 Cent - Candy Shop Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl Mario - Let Me Love You Audioslave - Be Yourself Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone Missy Elliott - Lose Control Destiny's Child - Girl Gorrilaz - Feel Good Inc Shakira - La Tortura J. Lo - Get Right (say watever u want, This song was everywhere!) Foo Fighters - Best of You John Legend - Ordinary People Rob Thomas - Lonely No More Black Eyed Peas - Don't Phunk With my heart The Game - Hate It Or LobveIt Eminem - Mockingbird Backstreet Boys - Incomplete Will Smith - Switch
Instead of puttin old songs they shud put up songs that are happenin now,This is a pretty decent CD, but there is just too much R & B
Nice mix September 7, 2005 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This cd is a great mix that includes songs for everyone. If I had one complaint about it, it's the fact that most of these are the very same songs that radio stations thrash all the time (and I do mean all the time) and therefore you may be sick of them before you've started listening to the cd. The worst song on here is 1 Thing. I don't know how she got a recording contract or who wrote that song, but anyway ... Coldplay and 3 Doors Down certainly make up for that indescretion.
